Planet Comics Poster Illustration

This illustration was created for Planet Comics Issue #2, a Kickstarter-funded publication by comic book writer Jeff McClleland. Planet Comics “pays homage to the original 1940-’53 title from Fiction House, which featured futuristic stories of daring heroics with a mid-century design”. This specific page illustrates a fierce astronaut bent on traveling to the different planets on her list. I wanted her expression to command the viewer’s attention, and I used a limited palette with pinks and blues that pop in the darkness.
